Our "Old New" House

As of this morning, our "Old New" house has been on the market for 4 days. As of Monday, it had been shown at least 5 times (well 5 times that we've gotten feedback on). And, I'm beyond thrilled to report that we recieved our first offer today! YAY! We countered their offer, so with any luck (and a whole huge honkin' bunch of prayers) our counter will be accepted and we'll move into the contracting stage! Wahoo! Talk about HAPPY thoughts! Seriously it would be so incredibly fantastic - We'd be in heaven!

This coming weekend will be loaded with activities from dawn till drop... literally! My awesome parents are driving up (and over) from Farmington, New Mexico for the holiday weekend. My sister and her children (Arissa, Michael, and Ainsley) are also coming up, but from McAllen (Edinburg actually), Texas. I'm really looking forward to spending time with all of them and enjoying the fun that having young children appears to be.

Of course, with all of this fun brings an element (or twelve) of stress. I haven't had the time I need to get our new home unpacked and ready for company. I've been working like a madwoman getting things unpacked, but there's still a bunch to do. (Yes, Krista, I have photos to share - I need to upload them first though. Kristy - I promise to share photos of the house, the pantry, and my new studio too! ).

I'll try to pop in here sometime this weekend to upload and update on the fam. It's going to be crazy, but I'm going to try to love every minute of it!

Silver Bella...

I'm so excited! There are approximately 16 days left until Silver Bella registration begins. Seriously, this was one of THE best crafting/art weekends I've ever spent. EVER. Seriously.

My awesome and incredibly creative roomies are lined up. My roomie will be the fabulous Maija and our adjourning suitemates will be Jennifer and Jana (of course, assuming we all make it in at registration).


I've got a budget plan lined up so that I have plenty of fun money for the Vendor Faire. Last year I didn't buy as much as I would have liked due to my cash shortage. This year, it would be great if I didn't have that problem - or as much of that problem. :) I'm really looking forward to seeing the artistic pieces from my friends again!


My mind is already dreaming up visions of the incredible pieces we'll create - all of course due to the amazing skills and gifts of our artist instructors. Seriously! It is sure to be a weekend full of vision, fun, creativity, glitter and dripping with laughter.


I'm in awe when I look at the line up of instructors that Miz. Fabulous Foofala herself has gathered together. Each of them are so absolutely fantastic - I hope I don't have to narrow down any of my class selections as I want (and need) to take a class from each of them! It's going to be SUCH fun!

Moving Right Along...

Wow… It’s been crazy busy lately. Seriously.

The Marshall Creek house will be on the market Thursday. Hallelujah. SERIOUSLY! I’ve been so frustrated about it. We’re putting money into it, only to sell it. It looks SO good. It wasn’t a bad house to begin with, but since we’re basically competing against brand new homes, we needed to do everything we could to make our house show in its very best light. We decided to follow our agent’s Decorators advice (she works for our agent) and paint 90% of the interior, lay all new carpet, change out the bathroom mirrors for framed mirrors, change out the kitchen table light for a new more modern one, power wash the fence, lay some new sod where Spinner dug up the grass, and a bunch of other landscaping stuff.

Seriously, if our house doesn’t sell I’ll be heartbroken. It looks SO nice and new. Seriously.

Onto the Pine Ridge house…. We had a sprinkler system installed last Monday. The installers accidently cut the phone and cable cables. Isn’t that lovely? It took exactly a week to get it fixed. I’m addicted to the internet. Seriously.

I can hear my mother now…Duh, Heather. We already knew you were. It’s about time you figured it out.

Doesn’t everyone have certain patterns they follow each morning? For me, it’s something like this:

- Alarm clock goes off. Hit Snooze.
- Alarm clock goes off again. Hit Snooze.
- Alarm clock goes off for the third time, and I mosy my bum out of it’s comfort zone.
- I do my potty thing.
- And then I check my email.

Doesn’t everyone? When I come home from work, it’s one of the first things I do… check my email.

Not having access to email at work, or at home has been quite irritating. I rely on the ‘net for entirely way too much.

I’d like to say I got a lot more accomplished, but I didn’t. Rather not at the PR house. We were entirely too busy at the MC house to do anything (or have ANY energy to do anything) at the PR house – except for sleep.

I did manage to get my fair share of sleep lately though. I came down with the spring fever ick… no, not the good kind. I was sick to my stomach with the spring flu over the past weekend. It wasn’t ANY fun. It was quite hellacious. But, in the end it was liveable.

I am so looking forward to spending the time finishing putting my studio together. It’s mostly done, but the tail end of putting things away has yet to be accomplished. It’s going to be fantastic though. I’m dying to just spend some time in it creating. I’ve been doing a bit of creating here and there, but nothing intense or involved. This coming weekend will be MY time – and I can’t wait!!!

I have a huge long post in my mind about Mother's Day, but alas it'll have to wait. But, a huge and energetic "Happy Mother's Day" to all of my friends out there - prospective, waiting, current, birth, first, adoptive ALL mothers!

Updates...

I know, I know. I need to update my blog! (Sending a HUGE shout out to those of you who reminded me this weekend!) Tee Hee Hee!

Life has been on overdrive for the last month – and especially the last week or so! We’re on the tail end of getting cleared out of the Marshall Creek house and into the Pine Ridge house. We’re hoping to have the Marshall Creek house listed this weekend so that I’ll be out there for Memorial Day house hunters.

We spent the last weekend in April celebrating Thomas’s 21st birthday with him and his friends. Dinner was delightful at Bagheri’s (as always) and his friends are definitely entertaining. I can’t wait to see what they’re like in 10 years – THAT will be really interesting!

Steve celebrated his 34th birthday on Thursday (June 3rd), but we had a little party Saturday night(yes, on National Scrapbooking Day – the horrors!). After spending the day over at The Scrapbook Pad (more on that fun in a moment), I busted a move home to get ready for his shindig – and what fun we had! A group of our friends joined us over at Chili’s for appetizers and dinner. Afterwards we moved the party over to the new house for a very casual fun time with cake and LOTS of Wii time. (Seriously, I think the Wii might possibly be the greatest entertainment purchase we’ve ever made. I had such fun watching everyone play with it!)

I had big plans on Sunday – but alas they fell to the wayside as I did something I don’t think I’ve ever done before. I slept all day long. Seriously. All. Day. Long. No joke. For anyone who knows me, I’m the girl who is ALWAYS moving. I don’t have a quiet moment often, and I almost always have more than one thing going on at a time. But, Sunday…it was all about me, my bed, and sleep. Amazing… We did have friends over for dinner though and we all enjoyed eating the queso, guacamole, chips, salsa, and other nacho toppings I had ready from the night before. Of course, there was lots more Wii’ing to be had.

Saturday was also National Scrapbooking Day. Yes, for those of you not in the scrapbooking world – there is such a thing. Amazing isn’t it? LOL! We (The Scrapbook Pad) started our weekend celebration early by having a “Night of Decadence” crop on Friday night. It was loaded with cheesecakes, fudge, fruit, éclairs, crème puffs, punch and chocolate – and oodles of prizes! I had a great time and I think the croppers did too.

Saturday was celebrated with a festive flair, Cinco de Mayo style. Our croppers enjoyed our festivities starting at 10am and running through midnight. We had all kinds of tasty foods (of course with Mexican food!), and treats – with oodles and oodles of great prizes and spot drawings. I didn’t stay for the whole party (due to Steve’s birthday bash) but had a great time while I was there.

Monday brought the contractors to install the sprinkler system. It’ll be great when they finish. It’ll be nice to not need to worry about the foundation (we don’t have foundation problems and are installing the sprinklers to avoid anything coming up in the future) or lawn. Also… it’ll be even better when the phone and cable lines get repaired (they accidentally cut them when digging for the sprinkler lines. Great. Just great.)

I’d share photos, but I broke the cord which charges the camera. Rather, somehow I managed to break one of the prongs that plug into the wall which connects to the cord that charges the camera… you get what I’m saying. So, I’m on the hunt for a new camera cord. Go me.

Thursday the new house gets painted – which at this point is a necessity as the paint on the chimney is peeling. We knew we were going to have to paint so this was planned. Unlike some of the other repairs we’ve had to do.

Other than that, there isn’t a whole lot going on. I keep really busy with everything and am really looking forward to having the Marshall Creek house listed so that I can take that task off of my ‘to do’ list.
